Elliot with more than 25 years’ experience in UK retail sales, joins the firm from BlackRock where he was head of EMEA retail strategic client accounts in January 2012 after spending time as head of UK sales.

Franklin Templeton’s UK country head, Ian Wilkins, said: "Elliott would also be focusing on promoting the company to national adviser networks with a view to adding its fund range to restricted advisers product offerings.

"We already have very strong relationships with cross-border distributors, but where we need to strengthen next is key relationships with domestic advisers," Wilkins added.

Franklin Templeton also hired Mark Ward as marketing manager for UK and Nordic discretionary and institutional business on 7 May 2013.
