The former chairman of UBS Luqman Arnold has partnered with Simon Murray, a former chairman of Glencore to launch a new advisory business.
Known as Cartesius Advisory Network, the business will advise corporates, policy makers and entrepreneurs on strategy across areas including capital raising, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, reported Financial Times.

Additionally, the duo will be joined by three other partners including ex-UBS vice-chairman Ken Anderson, former CIO at Deutsche Bank Mitchel Lenson and founder of HNF law firm Paolo Tanono ¬to launch the business.
Arnold said: "It’s a partnership of diversity and different professional backgrounds. The common element is we like people who are commercial and entrepreneurial.
"The partners have created a partnership of equals that is international from day one in terms of mindset and scope and is totally scaleable,’ he added.
Arnold, who left UBS in 2001, was previously chief executive of Abbey National and then ran a financials investment company called Olivant Limited, while Murray is a former French legionnaire who stepped down as chairman of Glencore following its merger with Xstrata.
