Fund Manager Ken Xu, previously associated with SAC Capital Advisors, is planning to launch his own hedge fund in Hong Kong.

Xu had departed from SAC, now rebranded Point72 Asset Management, after serving as managing director for three years earlier in May 2014, reported Bloomberg.

According to the data from Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission, the fund manager’s license with the company was removed on 16 May.

Xu is mulling over partnering with Asian managers who have experience in managing funds for Wall Street banks and global hedge funds.

Before associating with SAC, Xu was a managing director and Greater China equity long-short investments co-head for four years at Och-Ziff Capital Management.
