Former French budget minister Jerome Cahuzac, who was sacked last year for maintaining secret Swiss bank account, has also been accused of maintaining a secret bank account in the Isle of Man.
Cahuzac’ estranged wife Patricia Menard told investigating magistrates that her husband also had an account there between 1997 and 2004, which he did not declare to French authorities, French newspaper Sud Ouest reported.

Menard alleged that the account had been opened in order to channel 2.5 million (US$3.48 million) into London’s property market.
The investigating magistrates in France have set up an enquiry in London to try and trace these investments, the report added.
Cahuzac faces prosecution and possibly five years in jail after he admitted to the account during ‘an investigation into tax fraud.
Cahuzac’s lawyers declined to comment on the latest revelations.
