Skurdal most recently served at Great Northern Advisors, which is an independent affiliate of Liebenthal Wealth Advisors.

Before that, he served a spell of about 30 years at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and its predecessor firms such as Smith Barney, Shearson Lehman and E.F. Hutton.

Fieldpoint Private president and CEO Robert Matthews said that the appointment will introduce the firm to clients seeking an alternative to conventional wirehouses and private banks.

"Clay’s experience and outstanding reputation will make him a valuable presence in parts of the country where we feel the Fieldpoint story will really resonate," Matthews stated.
