US-based wealth advisory firm Fieldpoint Private has named Johnny Gibson as its new CIO, replacing Bill Kennedy who quit the firm last year.
Gibson has been working at the firm since this January, joining as managing director/senior adviser.

As the CIO of Fieldpoint Private, he will manage investment framework and publishing, research, strategy, as well as asset allocation.
Gibson said that revenue at the firm’s wealth management business is up 54% over the last two years, despite the Covid-19 crisis.
“To me, that is what a boutique looks like, purposefully remaining intimate and close to clients’ lives, even as it continues to grow,” he said.

Formerly, Gibson worked at Bank of America Private Wealth (previously U.S. Trust) for 15 years.

He also had a five-year stint at Charles Schwab as an investment consultant.
Besides, he co-chaired the CMT Association’s Orlando Chapter.
He was also the president and board member of the CFA Society of Orlando.

DeLaura said that Gibson’s new role is an expansion of existing responsibilities, where he directly works alongside his longtime client families, and his Orlando-based team partners Marc Angle, Stacey Cole and Tara Pioli.

Last month, Earl “Tripp” Moore joined the firm’s Greenwich base as a commercial banker.
