Fidelity International, a Bermuda-based investment management firm, has hired Johann Santer from Swiss banking group Julius Baer to serve as its head of private banking business for Asia ex-Japan.
In the newly created role, Santer will work alongside Fidelity’s global teams to drive the firm’s business with Asian private banks.

Santer has an experience of around 15 years in the financial services industry, mostly in the private banking and asset management space.
At Julius Baer, he served as the managing director and head of investment specialists of funds in Hong Kong. He has been working at the Swiss bank since January 2015.
Fidelity managing director Asia ex-Japan Daisy Ho said: “I am confident Johann’s experience and strong understanding of the private banking sector gives us the opportunity to better meet the needs of our private banking clients both now and into the future.”
Fidelity has made several changes to its leadership team in the recent times. The firm hired Christian Staub as the new head of its continental European business in March 2018, and Romain Boscher as its global CIO for equities in February this year.
