Fidelity has hired portfolio manager Dale Nicholls to succeed veteran investor Anthony Bolton on the investment firm’s UK-domiciled China special situations fund.
The move coincides with Bolton’s decision to retire from fund management. Nicholls will assume responsibility for the UK-domiciled Fidelity China special situations in April 2014.

Nicholls currently runs two Luxembourg-domiciled funds, the Fidelity funds and Pacific and Fidelity funds.
Nicholls has 17 years of industry experience operates a bottom-up stock-picking style with a growth bias and a focus on small and mid-cap companies.
Bolton and Nicholls will work together till 1 April 2013 on the strategy until Nicholls will assume sole responsibility.
Prior to managing the fund, Bolton has run a host of portfolios at Fidelity since joining the firm in December 1979.
