Audit firm EY has appointed Rick Small as the executive director in its financial services organization, focusing on anti-money laundering and financial crimes at a global level.
Small joins EY from American Express, where he most recently held the position of senior vice president of enterprise-wide anti-money laundering, anti-corruption and international regulatory compliance.

In the role of a senior vice president at American Express, he managed the company’s anti-money laundering, anti-corruption and sanctions programs.
Earlier, he served as the global anti-money laundering leader for GE Money, and managing director for the Global AML efforts at Citigroup.
Small was also a senior official with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.
Apart from this, he held other roles with the US Government, first as a federal prosecutor with the US Department of Justice in the Antitrust Division and the Organized Crime Strike Force and then as the senior counsel for law enforcement at the US Department of the Treasury.
