Former Morgan Stanley team with US$650 million in client assets have launched a new firm called Encompass Wealth Advisors, based in Portland, to support independent financial advisers.
The Encompass team, which includes Derrick Clouser, Walter Urban, Matthew Presjak, Colin Williams, and Mary Minshall, will deliver comprehensive, client-centric wealth management strategies for advisors.

Encompass Wealth will also provide financial services for clients including retirement, estate planning, structuring and managing investment portfolios, education planning, charitable giving strategies, business planning, insurance portfolio management as well as home finance and lending services.
Additionally, the firm will implement business successions plans for sole practitioner financial advisors.
Encompass Wealth has been launched in partnership with Tru Independence, a firm based in Portland.
Under the partnership, Encompass will use Tru’s capabilities including technology, managed investments, institutional research, trust and insurance services and credit facilities, while Tru will collect a percentage of Encompass’s management fees as payment for its services.
