The head of EFG International’s private banking operations in Switzerland is leaving the Swiss bank and will not be replaced.

Ludovic Chechin-Laurans, who was also a member of the executive committee, is stepping down for personal reasons and will be moving to the Bahamas where he will pursue a new business venture.

He will not be replaced on the executive committee. The bank also said in a statement that the heads of private banking in Geneva and Switzerland will now report directly to group CEO John Williamson.

Chechin-Laurans was instrumental in establishing the Luxembourg office of EFG International as well as overseeing the Swiss operations over his eight years in the role along.

EFG International will continue to work with Chechin-Laurans in his new venture.
