Gerber will take the position of managing director and head of private banking with effect from 2 July 2012.
He will also be inducted into the management committee and board of EFG Private Bank, subject to regulatory approval, said the Swiss bank in a statement.

He will report to Anthony Cooke- Yarborough, CEO of EFG International’s UK and Channel Islands business.
Prior to joining EFG International, Gerber was associated with another Swiss private banking major, Julius Baer, since 1999. During the period he held a variety of roles both in Switzerland and the UK.
He was the CEO of Julius Baer International in London since 2008 and prior to that was its deputy CEO.
