Zurich-based private banking group EFG International has named Edmund Yun as the new head of investment solutions in North Asia.

In the new role, Yun will be responsible for leading the product advisory team and the investment counsellors in Hong Kong.

Yun has more than 20 years of experience in private wealth management.

He joins the firm from Credit Agricole Indosuez Wealth Management’s Hong Kong unit, where he served key leadership positions including deputy head of markets, investment and structuring.

Prior to this, he held important positions at CIC Investor Services, Bank of Montreal Private Banking Asia, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce Private Wealth Management Asia, Banque Nationale de Paris Hong Kong Branch and BNP Private Banking Asia.

EFG International AUM reached an all-time high of $187bn (CHF170bn) at the end of March 2021, up by CHF11.2bn from CHF158.8bn at the end of December 2020.

The Swiss wealth manager attributed the growth to strong net new asset inflows, positive foreign exchange effects as well as favourable markets.

In March this year, the firm rejigged its leadership team with various changes including new heads of investment solutions and Latin America.

It appointed Harald Reczek to lead Investment Solutions, replacing Renato Cohn who was serving in the position since November 2016.

In February, EFG appointed Enrico Piotto as its new chief risk officer and a member of the executive committee, beginning 01 June 2021.
