Damian Burkhardt has been appointed senior portfolio manager, Swiss Equities by EFG Asset Management (Switzerland), with immediate effect.

Burkhardt will be headquartered in Zurich and report straight to Daniel Murray, EFG Asset Management’s deputy CIO and global head of research.

In his role as senior portfolio manager, Burkhardt will oversee the development of Swiss equities strategies and drive the expansion agenda of EFG’s Swiss Equities franchise.

He will do this by combining an active approach to leadership with systematic analysis of Swiss corporates to uncover appealing investment opportunities in Switzerland, including the New Capital Swiss Select Equity Fund and the New Capital Swiss Small and Mid-Cap Future Leaders Fund.

Moreover, Burkhardt, a seasoned Swiss equities investment expert, joined EFG from Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he has been Head of Swiss Equities since 2023.

Before that, he worked with Lombard Odier Investment Managers, where he was in charge of managing several Swiss equities funds as well as a thematic fund.

Previously, Burkhardt worked as senior private markets investment manager at BlackRock Private Equity Partners. He also holds a master’s degree in accounting and finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as a dual bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Additionally, Burkhardt is also a CFA Charterholder.
