Eaton Vance Management (EVM), a subsidiary of Eaton Vance Corp, has named Edward Perkin as new chief equity investment officer, with effect from 29 April 2014.

In his new role, Perkin will report to Thomas Faust, chairman and CEO of Eaton Vance.

However, Perkin will be replacing Duncan Richardson and Faust, who has served as interim chief equity investment officer since Richardson’s departure.

Perkin has joined Eaton Vance from Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), where he served as CIO, international and emerging markets equity, and managing director, portfolio manager, Europe, EAFE and Global, based in London for leading a 50-person team of portfolio managers and analysts in eight locations.

Previously, Perkin served as a portfolio manager and analyst on GSAM’s US value equity team in New York. Prior to this, he has also worked with FISERV and American Retirement Insurance Services.

EVM’s equity group, with US$39.2 billion in assets under management, currently manages US and global equity portfolios in value, core, growth and dividend income styles and covering large-cap, multi-cap, mid-cap and small-cap ranges.
