American investment management firm Eaton Vance has named Richard Froio as its new chief compliance officer.
Froio will be based in Boston and will report to Eaton Vance vice president, secretary and chief legal officer Frederick Marius.

Froio most recently worked as the deputy chief compliance officer (advisor/funds) and chief compliance officer (distribution) at PIMCO. He also served as a member of PIMCO’s global wealth management executive operating committee and chief compliance officer of PIMCO’s Latin America affiliates.
Before his stint at PIMCO, Froio served as managing director at BlackRock and chief compliance officer and head of Americas compliance at Barclays Global Investors.
