Eastspring Investments, the Asian investment management unit of Prudential, has named Phil Stockwell as the new CEO for its Singapore business.

Stockwell will assume the new role on 1 September 2016, replacing Jackie Chew who will now take over a global role within Prudential’s internal audit team.

He will manage the operations of the company’s Singapore office, and will report to Eastspring CEO Guy Strapp.

“Singapore is not only our investment hub but is also increasingly important in supporting our global operations. Phil’s experience, drive and understanding of the investment industry will greatly benefit this important part of our business. He will be instrumental in continuing to grow our business in this important market,” Strapp said.

The Singapore office is the company’s largest Asia office and its central investment hub. The office employs 350 staff.

Stockwell currently serves as Eastspring’s member of the executive management committee and COO. He is responsible for heading local and regional operations, IT, dealing, performance, enterprise data, investment compliance, front-office support and programme management office in this capacity.

Prior to joining Eastspring in 2014, he served as the COO at BT Investment Management in Australia as well as worked in consulting roles at McKinsey & Company and KPMG Consulting.
