UK-based advisory firm Dow Schofield Watts has launched the new Dow Schofield Watts Wealth Advisory business that will provide independent wealth planning advice to individuals.

The new unit, part of the group’s professional services businesses, will help develop personal financial strategies by coordinating and project managing the work of other professionals such as lawyers, tax advisers and investment managers.

Richard Speight, who earlier served at Grant Thornton UK, has been appointed as a partner in the new business.

Commenting on the new business, Speight said: "We are focused on our clients’ and providing an attentive service; we want to develop long lasting relationships and take great pride in our transparent and proactive approach. Our philosophy is based around independent financial planning, and the subsequent co-ordination of appropriate expertise to deliver those client requirements determined from the planning process.

"We will be providing a "family office" service to clients; coordinating the management of their wealth planning and managing, appointing and liaising with their other investment and tax advisers. Sitting alongside clients we will provide ongoing oversight, assurance and consolidated reporting."
