DeVere, a UK-based financial advisory firm, has expanded its footprint in Zimbabwe by opening a second office in Bulawayo, following the launch of its first office in Harare in September 2010.

Shane Helberg, DeVere’s area manager, said: "Due to an already strong client base and also a growing community of high-net-worth Zimbabweans and expats, Bulawayo was a logical place in which to open an office."

Helberg, who will head a team of four in Bulawayo who will work with about 30 staff in Harare, said that the headcount in both the offices is expected to increase to meet client demand, reports the International Adviser.

Nigel Green, chief executive of DeVere Group, stated: "Bulawayo is a major industrial and transport hub that looks destined to attract serious investment over the coming years – and with this will, in turn, bring many more international investors and expatriates who will, it can be reasonably assumed, need our expert cross-border financial advice."
