Deutsche Bank has extended the employment contract of its co-chief executive officer team by renewing the contract of Jürgen Fitschen and Anshu Jain, Co-CEO’s of Deutsche Bank by two years.

Under the proposal, the contracts of Fitschen and Anshu Jain, Co-CEO’s of Deutsche Bank, will now be extended until March 31, 2017.

The employment contract of Fitschen, which was set to expire in early 2015 will also be extended.

The chairman’s committee of the supervisory board of Deutsche Bank said that its supervisory board would vote on extending Fitschen’s contract at a meeting on 29 October 2013.

Paul Achleitner, chairman of the supervisory board of Deutsche Bank, said: "Jürgen Fitschen and Anshu Jain together requested the renewal. They would like to continue their outstanding work in a partnership in the coming years for Deutsche Bank.

"Since becoming Co-CEOs, Fitschen and Jain have made numerous important decisions that are positioning Deutsche Bank in the right direction. We know our company is in good hands with them," Achleitner added.

The bank is being investigated in connection to the global rate-rigging scandal and has faced allegations of tax evasion related to the trading of European carbon emissions credits.
