Deutsche Bank has appointed Oleg Melentyev, former Bank of America Merrill Lynch employee, as director and head of its US credit strategy.

The appointment of Melentyev, who will be based in New York, is part of the bank’s rates and credit strategy research platform.

In his role, Melentyev will work with the high yield sector research team, the investment grade sector desk analysts and the quantitative Credit strategy group.

Melentyev will report to the bank’s managing director and global head of rates research, Dominic Konstam.

Melentyev joins Deutsche Bank from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he worked as the head of high-yield and emerging market corporate credit strategy.

Prior to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Melentyev was the vice president of money markets at East European Bank based in Russia.

Konstam said Oleg will play an important role in supporting Deutsche Bank’s US credit research and its ongoing commitment to the sector.

"Oleg is well-versed in macroeconomic issues and bottom-up credit analysis, making him the perfect candidate for this role," Konstam said.
