Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM) has appointed Mitch Matharu as head of strategic lending.

In this newly created role, Matharu will lead a team that creates lending solutions for some of DeAWM’s most sophisticated and wealthiest clients globally.

He will also work with the business regional lending teams to structure loans that require high degree of customization to client’s needs and cross-border execution.

Matharu will be based in London as a managing director and will report to Balaji Prasanna, head of loan and deposit products.

Prior to joining DeAWM, Matharu was employed at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London, where he was head of CEEMEA coverage & EMEA emerging markets sales in the fixed income, currencies & commodities division.

Matharu has also spent his career in Asia, as head of Merrill Lynch’s Pacific Rim Credit & Illiquid Risk Group and before that as head of Asia ex-Japan structuring.
