Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM) has recruited former Barclays advisor Kevin Laurie as new director and client advisor to its private client services office in New York.

In his new role, Laurie will be reporting to John Sutton, managing director and regional executive.

Laurie, who joined Barclays in September 2008, most recently worked as director and financial advisor at the firm. He also worked at Barclays Capital’s US wealth & investment management division, where he managed $116m in client asset.

Prior to this, he worked with Lehman Brothers as a financial adviser on the corporate cash management team and also as a fixed income trader with Morgan Stanley.

Deutsche has been on a recruiting spree to expand its wealth management business in the United States particularly on the West Coast and Texas.

Jerry Miller, head of asset & wealth management at Deutsche, recently said to On Wall Street, "we want to be the lead advisor to both high-net-worth and ultrahigh-net-worth clients across the U.S. and we will continue to invest in our business to make sure we can."
