DBS, a Singapore-based bank, has named Surojit Shome as new chief executive officer for India, effective April this year, replacing Sanjiv Bhasin.
Shome joined DBS from Rabobank, where he was most recently CEO and country head of Dutch lender Rabobank India. He joined Rabobank in 2009.

Prior to this, Shome worked with Lehman Brothers Holdings and Citigroup.
Bhasin will step down from his role on 30 June 2015 after a spell of seven years with the bank.
Bhasin, who joined DBS in September 2008, has decided to leave DBS to pursue different interests. Prior to joining DBS, Bhasin was CEO and managing director at Rabobank India.
He began his career with HSBC’s India operations in 1979.
