Curian Capital, a US-based asset management firm, has hired Walt Czaicki as new chief investment officer and senior vice president of the Asset Management Group (AMG).

In his new role, Czaicki will be responsible for overseeing the asset manager selection and monitoring process in addition to providing asset allocation and capital market analysis for Curian’s US$17.3 billion in assets under management.

Based in Denver, Czaicki will report to Michael Bell, president and chief executive officer.

Czaicki has rejoined Curian in 2011 and has more than 25 years of investment management experience.

Previously, he served various roles such as vice president of platform management for Curian’s AMG overseeing manager selection, model allocations and advisor communications, vice president and director of portfolio management for Curian.

Czaicki has joined Curian from AllianceBernstein, where he served as a senior portfolio manager representing the firm’s investment solutions.
