Crosslane Fund Managers has opened a new Dubai office and hired Lee Jones to head up the new office.

In his new role, Jones will be responsible for marketing Crosslane’s Victus European Student Accommodation Fund and supporting advisers in the UAE and enhancing awareness of the fund across the region.

Prior to joining Crosslane, Jones has served as senior wealth manager and Qatar team manager at Qatar Broker International.

Before to this, he worked with Acuma, the Dubai-based wealth manager and has also been in the Gulf for more than five years.

According to Crosslane, the number of students studying abroad has increased from 1.75 million to more than three million since 2000 and this number is expected to more than double again by 2025 to 7.6 million.

Victus will enable investors to invest in a Guernsey-domiciled open-ended European Student Accommodation Fund, blending a mixture of mature property together with development opportunities, in major university cities in Europe.
