Credit Suisse (Switzerland) has appointed Martin Mende as the new head of the Strategy & Initiatives area, replacing Daniel Hunziker.

Mende will assume the new responsibility on 1 October 2020.

He will also join the executive board of Credit Suisse (Switzerland) and the Swiss Universal Bank (SUB) division’s management committee.

Mende’s background before Credit Suisse head

For over 25 years, Mende has held many managerial roles in business development and consulting.

From 1999 to 2012, Mende worked for Credit Suisse in the global private client business and the Swiss retail and corporate client segment.

Since 2012, Mende was a partner at Boston Consulting Group (BSG).

He advises Swiss and international financial institutions on strategy and transformation.

Meanwhile, Hunziker will become the head of Institutional Clients business, effective next month.

Other appointments

This July, Credit Suisse named Tim Tu as the new CEO of its China securities JV, Credit Suisse Founder Securities (CSFS).

Additionally, Daniel Qiu has been appointed as the head of Investment Banking & Capital Markets (IBCM) for the JV.

Earlier, the bank appointed Janice Hu as the chairwoman of the JV.
