Credit Suisse Group is set to name Tidjane Thiam, the current CEO of British insurer Prudential, as its new CEO.

Thiam, who has headed Prudential since 2009, will replace Brady Dougan, the current CEO of the Swiss bank, who is to leave Credit Suisse after eight years.

Prior to Prudential, Thiam worked as a fellow insurer with Aviva and also as a management consultant at McKinsey.

Durinh his helm at Prudential, Thiam has almost tripled the company’s share price.

Dougan will depart at the end of June this year. He has seen the Swiss bank safely though the financial crisis before it was hit by a series of legal and regulatory obstacles during his time at the helm.
