Credit Suisse has hired Felix Scherzer and Stephen Carter as new global co-heads of mergers and acquisitions for financial institutions.
In their newly created roles, Scherzer and Carter will be responsible for advising on deals for banks, insurance companies, specialty finance companies, financial technology companies and asset managers, reported Reuters.

Additionally, the bank has named Eric Richard as new Europe, Middle East and Africa head for financial institutions group.
Prior to this role, Scherzer had managed financial institutions merger advisory for the Americas based in New York at Credit Suisse, while Carter held a similar role for Europe, the Middle East and Africa based in London.
Before joining Credit Suisse, Scherzer served a similar role at Morgan Stanley in January.
Last week, Credit Suisse has expanded its financial sponsors group by promoting Didier Denat and Malcolm Price as new co-heads of the global financial sponsors group.

By GlobalDataBased in London, Denat will continue to remain as head of leveraged finance and sponsors group for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Also, Thomas Davidov and Sarah-Marie Martin have been named as co-heads of the Americas financial sponsors, replacing Price.
The promotions follow the appointment of Harold Bogle as chairman of the global investment banking department.
