Both Gek and Ching will be based in Credit Suisse’s Private Banking in Singapore.

In her new role, Gek will be responsible for Credit Suisse’s cross asset class portfolio strategy and macroeconomic research in Asia Pacific. She will report to Ms. Fan Cheuk Wan, head of research Asia Pacific for Private Banking.

Gek has 24 years of experience in strategy, portfolio management and investment advisory. Commenting on her appointment, Fan said "The appointment of Soon Gek will strengthen our thought leadership capabilities and allow us to meet the new challenges of the rapidly changing business environment in this high-growth region. "

Meanwhile, Ching who has rejoined Credit Suisse will report to Chew and will lead the Southeast Asia equity research unit covering the ASEAN markets.
