Apart from being the co-head of its investment bank, Boissard has been handed two additional regional roles, as the firm reshapes its structure, wherein the bank’s private banking and asset management will be combined to form a single division. He will also be responsible for fixed income.

In his new role, Boissard will work alongside the former sole head of the investment banking division, Eric Varvel, who will continue to oversee equities and the investment banking department.

Varvel has also been named as the head of Credit Suisse in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and will take additional responsibility for the Swiss bank’s UK entities.

Under the reshuffle, Varvel will become the chief executive of the Asia-Pacific region.

Moreover, the newly formed private banking and asset management unit will be headed by Robert Shafir, who will continue in his role as chief executive of the Americas, and Hans-Ulrich Meister.

The two senior bankers who will leave the Swiss bank as part of the reshuffle are Fawzi Kyriakos-Saad, who was appointed in July 2010 to run Credit Suisse in Emea, and Osama Abbasi, who had served as chief executive of Asia Pacific.
