Following its launch in 2011, the Credit Suisse General Counsel Academy has produced its first batch of graduates certified in the Compliance Professional Praticum.
The two-year programme conducted by the Swiss bank in Singapore aims to produce in-house compliance officers better equipped to manage today’s complex regulatory requirements.

Mr Eoin O’Shea, managing director and chief central compliance officer at Credit Suisse told the Straits Times that maintaining high-quality compliance capability with their internal staff is a key industry challenge. Within this program, participants rotate through various departments, 220 hours of lessons on banking products and compliance procedures including Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
Upon graduation, the group of 12 participants this year received an internal work certification from the Credit Suisse as well as a diploma in compliance certification from the International Compliance Association.
