Lam will be based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for private banking teams focussed on Hong Kong, Greater China, and the Philippines. He will report to Alex Classen, CEO Coutts International.
Lam spent the last 11 years at GAM, Hong Kong, as regional head of clients and head of business. Prior to that, he spent five years at Merrill Lynch, Hong Kong, where he was a director of private wealth services for Asia-Pacific in the international private client group (IPCG).
His early career includes 15 years at Chemical Bank/Manufacturers Hanover in a variety of roles, including the head of the private banking division for the Asia-Pacific region.
