JPMorgan Asset Management has merged its global and European equities units to create a new international equity group.

The consolidation combines teams that run three different investment processes, with an emphasis on long-term results.

The new entity will have 96 members and will manage $120bn in assets.

The unit will be led by Malcolm Smith, who has been serving as the head of European equity group since January 2016. Prior to joining JPMorgan in 2014, Smith worked at BlackRock.
