Brooks Macdonald shuffles senior management team

British wealth manager Brooks Macdonald has made a number of sweeping changes to its senior leadership team and board in line with the business priorities and investment plans.

As part of the changes, the UK-based company has named Jason Wood as its new chief operating officer. He is joining from Schroders, where he worked for 21 years.

With experience in operations, technology and change, Jason will lead enhancements to the company’s technology strategy and operational framework.

After 17 years at Brooks Macdonald, Simon Jackson, group finance director, will step down from the board in April 2018. The company will announce his successor in due course.

Additionally, Andrew Shepherd, the group deputy chief executive has been given an expanded role as part of the changes. Now, he will also assume the role of managing director of distribution.

Commenting on the changes, Brooks Macdonald CEO Caroline Connellan said: “As previously outlined, we are investing to enhance our capabilities to support our investment teams and to ensure we continue to meet and exceed our clients’ and advisers’ expectations.

“The appointments we have announced today will enable us to build on our success to date and create a stronger platform for delivering future growth while pursuing greater efficiency and progressively improving our margins.”

The staffing shake-up comes after the confirmation that Brooks Macdonald will merge its funds and investment management business.
