Cohen & Steers CEO Robert Steers said that the launch of the new fund is the next step in the company’s long-term vision for Cohen & SteersSHY, as a preeminent provider of liquid real assets solutions.

"Today, our core capabilities expand well beyond the Firm’s deep roots in real estate to include commodities, listed infrastructure and MLPs. We believe that the complementary investment characteristics of these real assets provide an ideal combination for investors seeking diversification beyond broad equities and fixed income–and a potential hedge against long-term inflation," added Steers.

Listed with their NASDAQ symbols, the fund features four share classes – Class A: CDFAX, C: CDFCX, Class I: CDFIX, Z: CDFZX.

The fund’s performance will be benchmarked to the Dow Jones-UBS Commodity Index Total Return, the company said in its statement.
