Close Brothers Asset Management has expanded its equity research team by hiring five new analysts.

The appointments are a mixture of new hires and promotions and all of them will join the team headed by Robert Alster, who joined the firm at the beginning of the year.

Roohi Siddiqui, who has almost 15 years of research experience, along with new hire Lorraine Grace will work on analysing consumer stocks.

Roohi Siddiqui has earlier held senior positions at Denny Ellison, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Schroders and Lehman Brothers.

Additionally, Dominic Carver has been appointed from Julius Baer as equity analyst to focus on financial and healthcare stocks.

The company has appointed Charles Coldicott to focus on telecoms, media and technology sector.

Furthermore, Mike Field has been promoted to focus on energy, material and utility companies. Previously, he spent four year at Close Brothers as an investment manager.
