Citi has joined hands with The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to launch Citi Wharton Global Wealth Institute to offer multi-year global executive education program for wealth advisors.

The new institute will launch in December on the University of Pennsylvania’s campuses in Philadelphia and Beijing.

Beginning in 2016, additional sessions will be taught in Latin America and Europe with further locations to be announced, Citi, The Wharton School said in a joint press statement.

The new institute is part of a new, three-year executive education initiative that will reach the Citigold, Citigold Private Client and Banamex global advisory network.

The participants in the multi-year global executive education program will include Citi’s top-performing relationship managers and financial advisors.

Citi expects to enroll as many as 500 relationship managers and financial advisors worldwide over the next three years through the institute.

Citi global head of retail banking and mortgage Jonathan Larsen said: "Our collaboration with Wharton reflects an extraordinary learning commitment by Citi that we believe will serve our Relationship Managers, and ultimately our clients, well into the future."

The institute will be led by Christopher Geczy, academic director of the Wharton Wealth Management Initiative.

Geczy said: "This program will impart supportive knowledge and skills in areas ranging from client service to the deep expertise of technical wealth management and on to leadership, ethics and personal effectiveness, all of which are critical for serving clients broadly at a world-class level."
