Citi Private Bank has hired Christian Schuwey from UBS Private Bank as its new chief of South Asia FX Advisory.
Schuwey, whose appointment, will be based in Singapore and reports to Adam Cowperthwaite, managing director and head of capital markets for Asia Pacific at Citi Private Bank.

In his new role, Schuwey will be responsible for growing the company’s business in Australia, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
At UBS, where he worked for over three decades in various foreign-exchange roles, he most recently served as a managing director. He led a group of FX advisers who catered to ultra-rich customers in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Taipei.
Previously, he also spent more than ten years as an FX trader at the investment banking division of the Swiss banking giant.
At Citi Private Bank, he will focus on increasing understanding and usage of FX-linked products, hedging tools, and funding solutions.

The hiring of Schuwey follows the exit former South Asia FX Advisory head Adam Margolis, who switched to JPMorgan Private Bank last year.
Citi Private Bank, which has nearly $460bn in global assets under management, offers private banking services to wealthy individuals and families.
