Citi has secured a new mandate from Sagicor Jamaica to offer a set of global custody, treasury, and fund administration services for its additional assets.

As per the new mandate, the bank will provide the services for Sagicor Investment Jamaica, Sagicor Sigma Funds and Sagicor Investments apart from Sagicor Bank Jamaica’s proprietary assets.

Citi already offers services that include daily securities valuation, reconciliation, fund accounting, reporting and custody for Sagicor Life Jamaica and Sagicor Life Cayman Islands.

Citi global head of securities and fund services Neeraj Sahai said, "This new mandate from Sagicor is further evidence that managers in emerging markets, like the Caribbean, are increasingly recognizing the value of outsourcing investment services and treasury functions."

Sagicor Jamaica CFO Ivan Carter said, "Citi’s local presence, proprietary global sub-custody network and proven expertise as a fund administrator were all important factors in our decision to expand our relationship further."

Citi currently has US$13.4 trillion in assets under custody and US$1.9 trillion assets under administration.
