Citi Private Bank has hired Alexander Makarin as a private banker for its Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) team covering Russia and CIS.
Makarin is an investment banker with extensive experience and network in the region, particularly in the metals and mining industry.

Makarin has joined the firm from Third Rome Investment Solutions in Moscow, where he was a Senior Partner.
At Third Rome, a Russia based multi-family office; he was responsible for delivering innovative financing and capital raising solutions for Third Rome’s private clients.
Earlier to this, Makarin was managing director in the Investment Banking Division of Unicredit Bank covering metals and mining clients in CEE.
Makarin has also worked for Standard Bank, Ernst & Young, Severstal, and Englehard Metals (currently part of BASF Group).
