Citi Australia has appointed Sandeep Gurkhi, currently vice president of portfolio solutions at State Street, as its new vice president of transition management and pension services, according to Financial Standard.

In this role, Gurkhi will be responsible for the management of portfolio transitions, derivative overlays, currency overlays, interim equity portfolios and other portfolio related solutions for asset owners in Australia and Asia.

Gurkhi has more than eight years of experience in transition management. Before State Street, he worked at Mercer Investment Consulting.

Michael Jackett-Simpson, Citi’s head of transition and pension services in Australia, said: "Having Sandeep joined our experienced team of Mick Larkin, Dan McGree and Stephanie Ng will allow us to expand our service offering to clients.

"His appointment shows the commitment Citi has to servicing the Australian Pension Fund market and growing our local business," he was quoted as saying by Financial Standard.
