According to the research report, the number of HNWIs in China has risen by an average of 41% in each of the last four years in spite of the global financial uncertainty.
Also, though HNWIs currently make up only 0.4% of China’s population, the figure is equivalent to over 4 million individuals.

While there was an estimated US$4.3 trillion of investable assets in China by the end of 2011, the publishers of the report estimate that HNWI wealth will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.7% over the forecast period (2011-2015) to reach to US$7.5 trillion by 2015.
The report also said that there are approximately 1.9 million HNWIs in the BRICS, with a combined wealth of US$7.5 trillion as of 2011.
