Edinburgh-based Charlotte Square has appointed Kris Barclay, former associate director at UK private client investment managers Brewin Dolphin, to its investment team, marking the start of a "12-month recruitment drive across" its investment and support teams.

The new hire brings the head count at Charlotte Square to nine. The company was founded in 2003 and it is the trade name of Raymond James Investment Services.

Commenting on the appointment William Forsyth, principal at Charlotte Square, said:

"This is a time of change in both the markets and the financial services industry. We see this as an ideal time for a business like Charlotte Square to attract new clients who are interested in a truly personalised service at a local decision-making level, but who also want the reassurance that the global strength of Raymond James Investment Services offers clients through its administration platform and regulatory and compliance umbrella."
