Charles Stanley has hired Paul Abberley as its new chief investment officer (CIO).
In his new role, Abberley will lead the wealth manager’s investment strategy committee and will be responsible for the responsible for the articulation and communication of the group’s investment strategy.

Additionally, he will also co-ordinate with all Charles Stanley & Co’s private client research output.
Abberley will report to Anthony Scott, Group PLC director and head of investment management.
Abberley has joined Charles Stanley from Aviva Investors, where he served as acting CEO and member of the Aviva Group executive committee.
Prior to this, he worked for eight years at ABN AMRO Asset Management as CIO for the company’s Fixed Income and investment solutions division as well as being chairman of the company’s London Board and a member of the global executive management team.
