Candriam Investors Group, a pan-European multi-specialist asset manager, has beefed up its UK presence by hiring Chris Davies as new head of UK distribution, and Derek Brander as head of UK wholesale.
Davies and Brander will be based at Candriam’s London City office.

In his new role, Davies will be responsible for driving distribution across institutional, wholesale and retail investor segments.
Davies, who has over 30 years of experience, joined Candriam from Fidelity, where he spent 11 years working on banking distribution, platform development and investment trusts before growing the Wealth business.
Prior to this, he worked with Prudential and also at Lloyds Banking Group for seven years.
Brander joined from Natixis, where he worked for five years and grew its UK wholesale business from infancy. He has 25 years of experience in asset management.

By GlobalDataPrior to this, he held senior roles at Societe Generale Asset Management, GLG Partners and AEGON, covering global private banks, UK private banks, stockbrokers, wealth managers and IFAs across the UK.
Candriam CEO Naïm Abou-Jaoudé said: "The UK market, the second largest in the world, is competitive, but investors are looking to diversify their asset allocation. With such recognised names now within our reinforced UK team, we are in a position to really drive forward our established presence here."
Candriam global head of EMEA client relations Renato Guerriero said: "In 2015, Candriam started an active European Distribution push and the addition of two very senior and reputable investment professionals to our UK team represents a major milestone."
Chris Davies said: "Derek’s wholesale and retail expertise is an excellent addition to the team. He is renowned for his work building Natixis Global Asset Management’s wholesale market from scratch, and I know he is keen to do the same here."
