Canada Life Investments has appointed David Marchant as chief investment officer and managing director, replacing Rob Ritchie.
In his new role, Marchant will be responsible for or overseeing all investment functions, including fixed income, equities, real estate and commercial mortgages, as well as distribution and investment services.

Marchant was previously head of securities for Canada Life Investments and was responsible for both fixed income and equities platforms.
The appointment is subject to regulatory approval however, will otherwise take effect from 1 July 2013.
