The Government of the Virgin Islands has appointed Elise Donovan as director of the BVI House Asia, with effective from January 2014.
Based in the BVI’s Asia-Pacific regional office in Hong Kong, Donovan will be succeeding his current interim director Lorna Smith in the new role.

In her new role, Donovan will promote BVI’s financial services, represent the BVI in a diplomatic setting and uphold BVI’s voice with the region’s government authorities, according to The Asset – Magazine.
He will also boost economic and political cooperation regionally and internationally, and build cultural and educational links in the Asia-Pacific.
Donovan has experience in international affairs, international political economies, diplomacy and public relations.
Donovan most recently served as the executive director of the BVI International Finance Centre, where she was responsible for promoting and marketing the BVI financial services industry globally. She has also worked in the BVI Government and the BVI Financial Services Commission.
