The assets of KCS which have been acquired are proprietary research database, 12 proprietary hedge fund indices, research reports and algorithms, as well as a platform to build institutional quality alternative portfolios.

Moreover, Peter Klein, designated as KCS’s founder and principal, is set to be hired as managing partner and chief investment officer in Bullwealth.

Klein serves as a tenured professor of finance at The Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University and one of Canada’s top hedge fund authorities.

Martin Sims, Bullwealth’s president and CEO, said: "This acquisition takes us to a leadership position in hedge fund and alternative investments research in Canada, and complements our industry leading research of long only managers. The KCS assets, and the addition of someone with Peter’s academic credentials and reputation, strengthen our proposition immensely and will help us accelerate our growth as Canada’s preeminent, independent advisory firm."
