Fotheringham succeeds Graham Auld, who had retired at the end of August 2012.
Fotheringham had joined Brown Shipley in December 2011 from Gillespie Macandrew LLP following Brown Shipley’s acquisition of the firm’s investment management division.

A veteran having over 30 years of investment experience, Charles started his career with Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner and Smith Inc in New York and London, where he spent ten years looking after both private and corporate clients in the international markets.
He was a private client vice president of Merrill Lynch Europe at the time of his departure. Since then, he set up his own fund management company, C. Fotheringham & Co. before joining Gillespie Macandrew LLP in 1995.
Currently, Brown Shipley manages client assets of over GBP250 million in Scotland.
